Mamamamama

Sometimes I swear Magoo knows he is calling to me when he makes noises, and I like to pretend that he knows what the sound Mama means. But lets be honest here....
never mind, is much more fun to pretend.

But this post is not about me even though I am a Mother. But this post is about my Mama.

When ever I see a picture like this I always think of my mother. Tulips are her favourite, naturally. But it's not just Tulips that make me think of her, its wooden shoes, and windmills, fresh made bread, and cream of wheat, the song "Imagin" done by Eva Cassidy, long sincere prayers, journals, chocolate, service, "strength of an Ox", chocolate sheet cake, a good meal, a warm hug, a well needed head message, gouda cheese, a clean house, the song "Love at Home", gardens and raspberry bushes, and so many other things. But the thing that reminds me most of my Mom is Home.

Thanks Mom, Happy Mothers Day. You deserve the best and I love you.

a REAL honeymoon.

So I know I already posted today, but since I have a sleeping boy in my arm I figured I would jot something else down.

Preface:
For our honeymoon Jared and I went to Banff, except we didn't stay in Banff, no no, we stayed in Dead Mans Flats (look it up). In a CHEAP Motel, ok we're talkin stupid cheap. In the middle of like the coldest snowiest weeks ever, as far as my memory serves me. And no we didn't even going snowboarding and we only went for like 3 or 4 days. Ya it was so great that I can't remember those kind of details.

Why?! you ask, well I'm cheap... and dumb (only sometimes). And figured we would go on a better trip later (dumb...). I think this is why the guy is suppose to make the honeymoon a surprise so silly girls like me can't ruin something potentially awesome.

Story:
So Jared has a sister who is getting married and we were talking about her honeymoon stuff. She told us they are going to go to Jasper for a few days. And Jared's mom asked something to the effect of, so when will you guys take your real honeymoon?..................

Conclusion:
I didn't know that was an option! One day I want to take my Real honeymoon. My "honeymoon" was definitely a dud, a fake, an impostor, a lie, and I feel we deserve a do over.

Mulligan anyone?

The only question left is who wants to pay?

Bunnies and Chocolate

So we were in Claresholm this year for Easter, and we had a great time filled with Family and Food!

The Easter Bunny dropped off a stuffed replica of it's self for Magoo...

Not too sure what to think of his new blue friend.

Later he found out that the Bunny is a great wrestling buddy, he goes down every time.

Magoo was watching Gradmas Dog at the park

And swingin on the swings with Daddy.

We had a great weekend, the only down side was that Magoo really didn't sleep much, just too many exciting things. Also this weekend Magoo got his first puppy kiss by one of his cousins dogs. I may or may not have freaked out just slightly, dog kisses are so gross to me especially since Magoo's mouth was wide open, blahc. But since that kiss Magoo has been sticking out his tongue lots which is really quite cute.

And tonight Jared is taking me on a Date! That's right, it feels like forever since I went on a date, I'm pretty excited. Jared's sister who is down for Easter is going to come watch Magoo for us for a bit so we can go get some "me" time.

May is chuck full of events for us. So there will be lots to post about, hopefully I find the time to do it.

Also a little shout out to my brother, Happy Birthday Colter. I hope it's filled with lots of left over Easter Chocolate.

and time passes by...

Alright so this is going to be more of a random rambling post of sorts, continue reading at your own will. But stop now if you don't really care. haha bet you couldn't stop.

Jared has a hat sometimes he wears it, sometimes he doesn't. But on days when its cloudy outside he will put it on at before he goes out and calls it his "good faith hat" that's right, he wears his hat in good faith that the sun will make some sort of appearance that day while he is out, no matter how long...or short. So yesterday I packed away our winter gear and dug out the flip flops, thats right, I did a "good faith" switcheroo. I have some good faith that I am seeing the end of the snow at least for a few months. Please?

I also used to have LOTS of magoos "crap" downstairs in MY living area. Okay so mostly stuff that caught his crap, and things that helped get crap off his cheeks and prevent them from going red. Well people I moved them! Hooray! They now have an actual place in his room. Yes its on the floor, in a box...on the floor (I have an issue with unnecessary things being on the floor I would much rather have a shelf of sorts, something off the floor) but thats the way it is right now. At least I took a gift bag and made the box look less like a box that contains wipes and more like it was meant to sit in a room on the floor... too lazy to take pics, sorry.

Also I find Magoo is sleeping less in the day, the kid is 5 months old and is refusing to take a afternoon nap. All I have to say if he knows whats good for him this will be a phase...

This weekend is Easter, I LOVE Easter. The reason for Easter is beautiful and sacred and full of Love. I know that the Saviour, My Saviour sacrificed for Us and that he has made it possible for us to live eternally, and I Love him so dearly for that.
Also there is chocolate involved, and I also have this love/hate thing with chocolate. But it's mostly a love thing.

My little 5 month old is in swimming lessons. Weird you might think... or awesome! Ya I think awesome. He was such a champ in that big cold pool. He even went under a couple times at the end. Its a good thing it was at the end, cause he was so done after that. But he recovered quickly and really enjoyed the hot tub for a bit after.

doing his chores...
and with a smile on his face.

Today marks 5 months for him, one month and we're moving onto solids! Whoop Whoop!

In his 4th month...

So Magoo will be 5 months on Thursday! And we also start swimming lessons, so excited!
Here are some pictures from the 4th month...

He got his first hair cut along with some other firsts in this post.
He got sick for the first time, horrible since I got very sick at the same time. And the nickname "Boog's" caught on (short for Boogers).
He went in a swing for the first time...
and Loved it!
he played with Hesston, these two are best buddies
he played with Payton, she always asks to hold him and then decides he is too heavy and it doesn't last long... but she still continues to want to hold him every time we go over. So fun.
he fell asleep with a head warmer...
and then I checked on him later, apparently his face got cold.
and he now fits into the cute shirt Aunt Robyn got him. So handsome.

We have been having so much fun with him lately. He just started rolling from his back to tummy in the last week and last night he was on a roll all over the living room. I'm kinda sad cause I now have to start thinking about moving all my stuff at toddler level. He also has been sitting up really well not completely by him self yet but I would say definitely before 6 months.

When G-Lo comes to visit

They play with toys...

if only he knew how much he could learn from his G-Lo.

Spring Break!

So Mr.Magoo and I got to go to Canmore for a couple days for my family's annual spring break tradition. Sadly Jared had to work and couldn't come, and even had to take a taxi to work one day (stupid snow...). We didn't go the whole week but we had a good time while we were there.

Magoo was so glad to be out of his car seat once we got there

Us chillin in the lodge
It was such a beautiful day
with the aunts
swimming for the first time
In the outdoor hot tub, he really seemed to enjoy it.
Aunt Emily, one seriously cute little Oviatt girl, and Uncle Bevan
Look at that hair! time for a trim.

The finished product

Thanks Nana Jo for watching Magoo while I went and "shred it up" (those were my moms words)even though you weren't feeling well. It was a blast, can't wait for next year!
