18 Months

So technically Mr. Magoo hit the 18 month mark on the 21st but we just went and got his shots this morning and so I thought I would wait to post until I had his measurements.

Weight: 24 pounds, 5 ounces. (30 percentile)
Height: 78cm or 30 and 3/4 inches (10 percentile)
Head: 49.5cm (90 percentile)

So a little on the short side and has a biggish head, but we always new both of those. We still think he's pretty darn cute!

Magoo has a plethora of words that he can sign, say, and lots of animal noises too. I am currently working on some lists of them all, and I think we are going to try to get them on video one of these days, he just has to be in the mood to go through them all.

He also eats. alot. He eats pretty much all the table food we eat and loves fruit and ice-cream and freezes. I would say his favourite over all food is cheese, you can always make him happy with cheese! He doesn't drink milk, other than the odd occasion that he has something super rich like cake, or cookies, then he'll drink an ounce or two if we're lucky. He mainly drinks water, and once in a while I will add some juice, but in reality it's still mostly slightly flavoured water, haha.

Magoo is a little adventurer and would spend his life outside if I let him. He also likes to climb onto everything, make a mess, has an odd obsession with blow dryers, loves his extended family (especially Aunt Emily, he's asks for her daily...), loves to ride on the bicycle with Mom, and loves Dad's motor bike even more (but hasn't had a ride on it yet). He loves to go look at the lobsters at Sobey's and know exactly where they are (the meat guy even let us hold one once!), really loves any animal and want to touch them all, but he is really good about letting dogs smell his hands before he goes in to pet them. He sleeps in a toddler bed, goes down the slides at the park by himself, and likes to swing really high in the little kids swings, and likes to sit on the big kids swings. He is a fish and loves to go swimming, but doesn't like to lay on his back unless he's in the tub. He understands so much of what we tell him and we are always impressed by the things he does.

He loves his Dad lots, but nothing compares to Mom (sorry Jared). He is an overall really happy boy, and pretty good at listening. We love our little Mr.Magoo, and think he is going to be a great big brother!

24 May 2012

I've grown.

So i realized that its been about 7 weeks since I put a picture up of me, well don't be too surprised at what your about to see.

I am in my 27th week or so. I considered putting up side by side pictures of me at 27 weeks with Magoo and this one, but when I looked at the difference my self I decided against it.

They weren't joking when they said that after your first pregnancy all subsequent pregnancies move faster. Not just time wise but body change wise as well!

I feel like a whale already, I prefer to sleep in a more upright position, my pelvic bones and everything associated with them kill. Did I mention the pain in my pelvic region... shooting pains, walk slower than a grandma with hip replacements (sorry Nan) and limp just as bad as one. Seriously I think people must be laughing at me as they sit in their cars waiting and waiting for me to cross a parking lot.

And the emotional outpouring with this one is incredible! I blame it on the fact that it's a girl in there...
I don't cry overly often but when I do it is over the most ridiculous things ever. Like:
While at my parents house my Mom made rhubarb cake, I had a piece, waited a couple hours went back for seconds and my Dad tells me it was gone... yup you got it. I had to run to the bathroom (mostly out of embarrassment) while reassuring everyone I was just crying cause I am pregnant. And then continued to sob. Only to find out he was tricking me and that there was plenty of cake left! And then to sob cause I made such a fool outta myself and that my Dad lied to me. haha
We all have a good laugh over that one (mostly everyone else, I am still somewhat embarrassed).

So I was asked how close Magoo and the new babe will be in age, and it will be about 21 months or so. Which I am starting to think I am crazy for doing, no matter how many have done it before me, and even some who have done closer in age. But I seriously keep thinking that this baby needs to stay inside me as long as possible as I still have a baby to take care of.

Mr. Magoo hit the 18 month mark on Moday, his shots are scheduled for next week. So look for a post on all his latest stats. If you care.

19 May 2012

it was so fun!

*warning: this post contains ALOT of pictures! and mostly of Magoo...

We are back in Regina but had such a great time in Alberta that I thought I would share.

We went and watched Aunt Emily's Rugby game. Magoo spotted someone's bike helmut and pointed at it and said "Daddy?", so cute, the guy who owned the helmut let Magoo where his passenger helmut and his fancy Oakley brand sunglasses (those I made sure he didn't touch!)

Magoo also loved standing on the lawn chair and "yelling" in his gibberish at the girls on the field. All the bystanders we also loving it and somewhat cheering his cheering.

NannaJo has such patience when it comes to messes help...

... which ends in "baths" and mopping of floors. haha

Magoo's first ever text (it's the mumbo jumbo part at the bottom). He typed it and sent it himself, and we only discovered it when G-Lo's phone buzzed.

We spent a TON of time outside! It was so nice pretty much the whole time we were there.

Also had a -falling off a chair- accident, and got a bruised back and bonked noggin.

I also found some time to alter some stuff for my growing belly. These used to be regular pants, but I sewed an old tank top onto them, hemmed 'em and voila- new maternity shorts! whoot. I made two other pairs.

My little Magoo has an obsession with phones. One night we were chill'in. Emily was playing on her phone on that chair and Magoo finds his toy flip phone and goes and chills next to her. What a kid.

kissing/trying to bite NannaJo through the screen.

we.ate.so.much.food.

meeting baby Kastendiek for the first time (Des & Matt's little boy). There were a few jealousy moments when I was holding him.

Also we went to the ZOO! This is the face he made (unprompted) the first time he saw the lemurs.

(if you look really closely there is a baby clinging on the side of this Mamma lemur)
seriously we could have probably spent the whole day in the lemur house and Magoo never would have gotten tired of it.

and we couldn't help but think of Unlce Riley as he currently shares a country with these cool monkey's.

After our visit at the Zoo we went and had an awesome picnic lunch down in the River Valley. It was so quiet down there and so refreshing to just sit and enjoy the sun and the company with us.

Loves parks!

I also realized this was the first time Magoo ever experienced sand in between his toes, so many parks have rocks/rubber these days. Sand parks are so refreshing, although slightly litter-boxy all at the same time...

and since when did my 18 monther become too cool for the baby swings?

also a trip to G-Lo's acreage wouldn't be the same without a little underage driving...

I Loved being at my parents house just for the lone fact that I could sit on the deck and watch him play in the yard and never worry that he's going to run too far, or chase someones dog...

There were a few other things done, not caught on camera, like swimming. We loved going to the Kinsmen Pool in Sherwood Park, it has the BEST tank for littler kids!
We also got to visit with Nannie and Grampi (my Dad's parent's) they came for dinner on Mother's Day. And visited with lots of other great people, although not as many as we probably should have... oh well, next time.

(photo courtesy the great Bevan, and his wonderful skill)
All in all it was a great time.
And we already miss being there.
Although not as much as NannaJo and G-Lo miss us...

08 May 2012

aren't we lucky?

So incase you haven't already figured this out, I have this really amazing husband who comes up with these really amazing ideas. One of his most recent being that Mr.Magoo and I would head back with my Mom and sister after are move and spend 10 days visiting. All the while he would be back at home starting a very intense semester of school, working, and trying to find time to study, and maybe even see a movie cause he truly deserves atleast that!

So Magoo and I got to the acreage on Sunday night, and have had one full day of fun so far!

Magoo Loves helping G-Lo.
he was also very fortunate to be completely spoiled by NannaJo all day (while I was at the hair show with my sisters. Thanks Nanna.)
He got so good at helping G-Lo that driving the tractor himself came naturally. (I will try to get the video up as well)
we got the deck swing out of winter storage.
and Nanna bought him a new book, that has an attached puppet. He thinkings it's hilarious!
Also best part of this trip so far is that when Mr.Magoo wakes up I send him upstairs for breakfast with the G-parents and I head back to bed, whoop whoop!

Seriously am I a lucky girl or what? This trip is just what the doctor orderd.
Also I get to talk to Riley on Sunday!!! I'm a little excited, I love that kid.

03 May 2012

...week long prep for tomorrow

We have been busy here this week.

1. dumpster diving, cause I refuse to pay for cardboard if I can get if for Free. Plus I have little pride when it comes to that sort of thing. I did have a couple people offer to help me dig through cardboard as they passed by. It must have been somewhat comical to see a pregnant chick digging through big'ole dumpsters... or kinda sad, haha.

2. taping together said cardboard (see above) to make perfect boxes.

3. filling said boxes (see above...)

4. taping the full boxes closed, and label appropriately (this step is extremely important).

5. check out our new apartment (accomplished this morning)

6. welcome three willing and loved "movers/cleaners" (to arrive in about an hour!) we call them Nanna Jo, Auntie Robyn, and Uncle Dally Wally. Seriously Loved!

7. arrange for Magoo to have a play date for most of Friday (thanks Rebecca Smith for babysitting while we move)

8. move and clean (moving to be done tomorrow and the cleaning the next)

9. go back to Ardrossan, Ab for a little visit (to be done as soon as I feel mostly unpacked) I'm super excited for this one!
