Catch up: 23, Really!?

So in the midst of our moving I turned 23. Honestly I still get confused and tell people I'm 21 and then later realize I'm not 21 at all. How did the last 2 years get away from me like that?

So on my birthday I really spent the whole time packing but then for dinner Jared and Magoo took me for dinner at the "Firestone" and it was way better than the first time we went there, I got the Salmon, yum! Afterwards we got dessert from DQ of course a DQ birthday cake was the only thing I ever request, double yum. Then Jared's sister and family offered to watch Magoo while we went and watched the last Harry Potter movie. So nice of them and the movie was really good!

I got a present once we got to Regina since is was large and we really didn't want another big box to have to move. This is what was:

A bike carrier for Kasper, which we both love!
We have gone for many rides since being back in Regina and I will have to put up some pictures of our adventures later.

The catch up: Moving.

So I packed our little apartment up entirely all in three days! Gives you a good idea of how much stuff we own, not much. And did you know cardboard boxes are great for containing children while you are trying to get stuff down.
Magoo "helping" me pack.

Can you spot Jared behind all our stuff? This was pretty late and I was pretty much done packing and the next day I planned to clean and go.

Jared packed this whole thing himself! (with the exception of the few big things, I helped) It all fit into a 14foot haul.

And unpacking, this is Magoo's new room, however it no longer looks like this anymore.

I will have to post some pictures of our place once I am all caught up on blogging and Jared is back at home to help me hang pictures and what not.

We stayed in our new place for a few days and then headed back to Alberta for a couple weeks for Jared's work and Family reunions.

Mision Accomplished

Thought I would do a quick update, we found a place in SE Regina (the area we wanted). It looks like a nice enough place, a little 2 bedroom apartment through Boardwalk. The one downside it that I wont have my own laundry room any more, it will be coin laundry, luckily it should be just down the hall, I think I will survive.

The one thing about this place is that possession was soon, so I am in a rush to pack up and go, but that's ok, better this week that next. We are moving THIS THURSDAY! But I think I have a handle on the packing end of things, I'll know better by Wednesday.

And to get the place I literally had to race someone else. I called they said they had a suite available but I would have to fax over my stuff quick as someone else had just called and was on their way over with their application and damage deposit, and since I don't have a fax machine I threw Magoo into his stroller (still in his pj's), put on my running shoes and booked it to the nearest UPS store (which is only 4 or so blocks away, but felt way further). I got into the store told the girl I was in a race and I needed her help (she was so quick), as the fax was dialling I called Boardwalk to tell them it was on the way, while it was sending the other person walked in and the Boardwalk girl was like "oh I'm so sorry we didn't get your fax yet, and the other person is here" total heart dropper. But just as she was finishing her sentence my fax went through and I got it since I called first. Such a relief, but honestly I don't think I have ever ran as quickly as I did to the UPS store that day.

There is so much I want to blog about like our camping trip this weekend but it's gonna have to wait until after the move I think so look forward to a bit of a catch up with lots of pictures.

Talking about pictures one of my brothers called me a "camera whore" he said it's cause I am obsessed with taking pictures of one subject... Mr.Magoo. I don't think it's a bad thing.

Anyways moving day. Thursday. 6pm. Come help if you can/want to.

On the Hunt...

I am totally feeling the crunch to find a place to live these days. This weekend they took some people through our suite and about an hour after they left my management company called to thank me for letting them come last minute (even while Magoo was napping) and that they signed the papers! Ah, I really have to move now, crap!

Today I started packing some boxes of crap. I have to give myself a limit or I would have everything packed by the end of the week for sure. My only problem now is we still don't have a place to live yet. My biggest downfall was going to Edmonton the last week of June/ first week of July and not hunting very often.

These days I call a certain complex that we really want to get into daily and I look online at least 2 times a day. I also message like everything that sounds remotely big enough for us and at least have a telephone conversation and if they sound decent I get a friend of mine who lives in Regina to go take a look at it for me, which I totally appreciate her doing that. Thanks Tara.

This past Saturday I phoned a guy about a basement suite that sounded so good and they had good pictures up, our conversation was going so well and I was about ready to go wire him some money with out having Tara go look at the place and then I asked how big it was and he told me and then was like "why, how many people would be in it?" so I told him "me, my husband, and our very small 7 month boy, who doesn't really need too much room." and he was like "oh, there would be a child..." immediately my heart dropped and the weight was then put completely back down on my shoulders.

Honestly people if you don't want kids in your place put it in your ad, but really kids need places to live to, freakin stupid heads. Needless to say after telling him to have a good day and hanging up I cried, twice. But I am feeling good this week, I will find a place before we have to go. And if not at least we have a tent? (and really good family who will be taking us in if we actually to find a place in time).

I'm in Love with a Lobster...

The phil & ted Lobster!

I'm pretty sure Magoo likes it too.
I sent a picture of it from the store to Jared and said "this would be so nice for camping it's $-. Plus it's a Phil and Ted!" after agreeing that we would use it for more than just camping and get rid of our old behemoth of a highchair/swing thing on kijiji, I bought it. I might have a slight obsession with phil & ted made things. We have their explorer stroller and I love it too.

This lobster chair is great it's super light weight, folds into a nice little bag, has a little tray (incase you clamp it to a nasty picnic table or something), the seat is washable, and it holds up to 37lbs, which is about 3 years old.

Can you tell I love it, I do.

After camping...

and loads of laundry we headed up to Edmonton with Uncle Ry.
He even let Magoo drive for a bit, while we ate lunch anyways.

Once we got there he Mr.Magoo was quick to find all of Nanna Jo's stuff.

Our week was so full while we were up in Edmonton...
We visited Aunt Robyn and Uncle Bevan

G-Lo and Magoo ate mini cucumbers together.

Uncle Dallin and Magoo played (once Magoo warmed up to him anyways).

We went shopping with Aunt Em (and Nanna Jo). I mean really what would an Edmonton trip be with out a little shopping.
We went to Uncle Dal's grad.

And hiked Magoo's pants up like Steve Erkle, minus the suspenders...

We found a pretty flower clip, haha.

On Canada day we hung out with The Mullins family who came to visit all the way from Georgia, and we had so much fun. This is Magoo with Levi Mullins. Sadly this was the only picture I got, but there were many more taken of the whole group of us, just not with my camera.

We also got to go see the Canada Day fireworks! And Mr.Magoo did so well, he just laid back in my arms and watched them, and he didn't ever try to take off the big yellow ear protecters.

There was so much that we did, we also went to Brunch at Cora's with Desiree one morning and went and visited with the Orr family for an hour or so. One thing about going to G-Lo's and Nanna Jo's house with a child is that when I leave I remember my child but forget some of my stuff there...
I am really missing my sandals.

Camping at Crandell

warning: this post contains Many pictures, view at your own will.
So the last weekend of June we headed out to Waterton to get some camping in. We always go when it's warm, and so I foolishly thought it was going to be warm out. But it was really quite chilly and there was even lots of snow still up at Cameron Lake.

Mr.Magoo and I infront of Cameron Falls, they were strong and misting us from far away.

Magoo sleeping, and me "sharing" my icecream.

I don't know how sleeping like that is comfortable.

An evening by the fire, Magoo fell asleep like this really well both nights.

Uncle Riley came with us!

Magoo slept well like this during the night, and only woke up to quickly eat.

A morning nap.

Magoo helping me get breakfast ready.

Do you like my dirt moustache?

Eating his new delight... dirt.

Riley hiked up to Crandell lake with us while Jared went riding (on his motorcycle) with my cousin Tayt. The water was so high this year, it was unbelievable.

He fell asleep on the way back down, we totally love our new hiking carrier.

We went to The Prince of Whales to listen to my cousin Jasmin play the harp during high tea, it was beautiful to listen to, she is absolutely talented.

trying his hardest to get the newspaper...haha (he's under the table, incase you can't see it too well)

We love camping!

Next camping trip will be to Thunder in the Valley in the Crowsnest Pass, it's on July 16. Care to join us? We would love to have you. Plus the fireworks are amazing!
